For some, 2012 is the end of the old world and the beginning of the new world. The new world that we are fighting for is one that must be radically decolonized. The actions being organized as part of this convergence also focus primarily on struggles in México, the US and Canada so the reference to "The New World" in this context is a play on the colonizers' name for this continent and a declaration of resistance that these territories must be decolonized and liberated.
